About Peyten Marquez

Peyten Marquez - Receptionist

I was born in Rapid City and spent my early childhood taking in the beautiful scenery of the area. My family and I frequently visited the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Wall Drug, Hill City, and the many hiking trails scattered throughout the Black Hills.

When I reached adulthood, I decided to enlist in the United States Marine Corps and arrived at Parris Island, South Carolina, for boot camp during the summer of 2016. After 13 weeks of misery, I graduated and completed an additional 30 days of combat training in North Carolina.

After combat training and technical school, I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, for two years. While there, I made many friends and went on many adventures. I enjoyed everything Japan had to offer, including the people, the culture, the history, the language, and the food.

During my time stationed overseas, I also visited the thick jungles of Thailand, sailed across the South China Sea with the Navy, and explored the sprawling metropolis of Manila in the Philippines.

After completing my service, I was honorably discharged as a sergeant and decided to move back to my hometown of Rapid City so I could be close to my mom, dad, and younger siblings.

In my spare time, I write and record my own music and practice the many instruments I own, including acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, banjo, keyboard, and harmonica. I also spend a lot of time with my longhaired calico cat, Maggie Mae. I enjoy hiking and fishing in the summertime, but I like to explore the Black Hills and the surrounding area year-round.
